We would like to invite you to participate in a research project by completing the following survey.  

The survey is conducted by UNESCO and Eight Goals One Foundation (India) to collect new information on perceptions, feelings, attitudes, behaviours and habits of the video gaming ecosystem.  

Your participation in this survey is entirely voluntary. Some of the questions are personal. You may choose to not participate or end your participation at any time. There are no right or wrong answers. We want to know about you, your opinions or experiences.  

There are no foreseeable risks, harms or discomforts associated with this study beyond those encountered in normal daily life. There are no direct benefits that you may get from participating in this study, and there are no costs either. 

Completing the survey will take about 20-30 minutes of your time.

There is no way of matching identification access codes with survey responses.

Data Protection Notice 

Your privacy is important to us. We take every precaution to protect the personal information you provide in accordance with the UNESCO Principles on Personal Data Protection and Privacy and the Eight Goals One Foundation Personal Data Protection and Privacy Policy. 

The data is collected and processed through a secure online survey platform. Participation is anonymous by default. The survey will not ask you to provide any information that could be traced back to you such as your official name, surname, address, email address or phone number. Please note that the survey will ask you to provide your gender, age, nationality, and ethnicity, and that these questions can be answered with the option “Prefer not to say.” 

If you voluntarily provide contact details (e.g. to receive the final report and be informed of the next steps of the project), your email address will be stored separately and will not be linked to your anonymous survey responses. 

The information you provide will be processed only for the purpose of analyzing trends and publishing findings in an anonymized format in a global report. The data will not be used for direct marketing or commercial purposes. 

Only authorized personnel from UNESCO involved in this project will have access to the email addresses provided voluntarily, so as to communicate follow-up information. Only authorized personnel from UNESCO and Eight Goals One Foundation involved in this project will have access to the anonymized datasets, which may also be shared with UNESCO-affiliated researchers, such as UNESCO Chairs, for non-commercial, academic purposes, as part of the implementation of UNESCO’s Transforming MEN’talities in and through video games initiative.  

The information you provide will be processed exclusively for the purposes described in this notice. Any other use will always be subject to further consent. 

Your data will be stored for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this privacy notice, in accordance with our applicable records retention schedules.
